Get a practice in before the AKC Rally National Championship.
2 matted indoor rings (heat/no AC), indoor bathroom, indoor crating.
All runs 8 minutes, use VERSATILITY for Masters entries, will have an Intermediate sign in Advanced as alternate to jump, and an alternate sign in Masters for Choice in lieu of jump.
Walk thru's are before each class begins.

9AM to 11AM Elevating Your Novice Performance
Maybe you've been to a couple of Rally workshops or a Rally class and are looking to put the finishing touches on your dog's performance. Maybe you want to dust yourself off after a Rally break. Maybe you're an experienced Rally handler who doesn't need a basic/Foundation session but has a new dog to break into the sport. We'll discuss the trickier Novice signs in detail, perform some coursework, and talk about the training points that take a good performance to a great one. Please keep in mind this workshop is designed for one dog per handler. If you have multiple dogs, it is recommended to sign your dogs up for different workshops.
Price: $50 Working Spot, $25 Auditing Spot.

11:15AM to 1:15PM Strategies for Positioning
Rally is one big heeling pattern! Does your dog need help learning pivots, side steps, or backing up? Do you encounter issues with performing crisp turns, straight halts, and straight fronts? Let's take a look at your dog's understanding of heel position and rear-end awareness as well as how your handling might be impacting your dog's performance. This is a workshop for any team at any level of Rally as behaviors from all of the levels will be used. This is NOT a workshop for coursework. Please keep in mind this workshop is designed for one dog per handler. If you have multiple dogs, it is recommended to sign your dogs up for different workshops.

1:30PM - 3:30PM Teaching AKC Master For teams presently trained through Advanced and Excellent and/or teams competing in Master needing clarification on signs. We will cover as many behaviors as time allows for successful competition in the AKC Rally Master Class. Spins, recalls over a jump and on the flat, signs using back-up behaviors, cones, directional arrows and the overall flow of a Master course. This workshop will focus mostly on teaching the signs in a group setting so that teams may put the finishing touches on in their future practice at home. This is NOT a coursework workshop. Please keep in mind this workshop is designed for one dog per handler. If you have multiple dogs, it is recommended to sign your dogs up for different workshops.

11:15AM-1:15PM The 4-Ring Picture Appropriate for any team looking to proof their dog's skills in a progressively busier environment. If you've only ever shown at 1-ring trials, but have aspirations for AKC Rally Nationals, the AKC RACH Invitational, or competing at cluster shows or busy breed specialties, come to this workshop and show your dog the "picture" of 4 adjacent rings. In many ways a progression of our popular Skills & Drills workshop, we'll work on ring entries, heeling along ring gates near other dogs, and common distractions at busy shows like spectators, cameras, and distractions in the adjacent rings. This is not a workshop for coursework, it is an attention, engagement, and distraction workshop and is designed for one dog per handler.

1:30 PM-3:30PM Teaching AKC Intermediate/Advanced Perfect for those who have taken our Rally Novice workshops, this workshop will introduce concepts to prepare for successful performance in the AKC Intermediate and Advanced class, including pivots, stands, turns with circles, call to heel, side steps and fronts from a halt. Suggestions for training at home will be incorporated. After covering these behaviors, we will finish with a course, time permitting. Off-leash skills will not be explicitly taught in this workshop and dogs do NOT need to be working reliably off leash to attend. This is not a workshop for coursework and is designed for one dog per handler.
